  • ooops i mean connection and there is tons of other shops around it to this area is like one big shopping village the people who live around it must be happy
  • This mall is actually a hell hole. The quality of this mall has declined sharply in the last 15 years. The shops inside are dirty with the merchandise strewn about. You can actually see on the map where the parking lot blew up a few years ago, leaving a huge crater in the ground, although it is patched up today.
  • Ford City is a ghetto mall now.
  • This Mall is hug! But that not in good neighborhood! I like their food court there! I got lost in Carson Pirie Scott Becuase I entered through North Enterance! I'll be coming back there soon! Theres alot of Hip Hop stores in there!
  • Old description: Ford City Mall is not just another shopping center. It has quite a history. From being a war supplies plant during World War II, to the Tucker Automobile Plant, to the shopping center it is today, Ford City Mall is an important part of Ashburn's history. Today's Ford City is filled with more than 150 stores such as The Disney Store, Hallmark and Victoria's Secret, along with anchor department stores Carson Pirie Scott, and JCPenney. It is an ever-changing environment. One of the most entertaining features of the mall is the working carousel. Children clamor for a ride on one of the horses. The mall is also a great place to get exercise and just "walking the mall" is a pleasure for some. There is a 14-theater movie complex, a State of Illinois driver's license facility, and a large food court that includes Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts, Kentucky Fried Chicken/KFC, Long John Silver's, McDonald's and Taco Bell, as well as small specialty food places. There are also full-service restaurants (John's Garage and Old Country Buffet). There is a free club for children ages 4 to 11 called Planet Kid; children can participate in arts and crafts, environmental and educational events and activities. The basement of the mall, known as The Connection, is a great place for small businesses to get their start. The Connection houses many specialty shops. It came from an old version of the mall website.
