Sham castle built in the early 18th Century on the instructions of the first Earl of Strafford. Occupies the site of an iron age hill fort within the gardens of Wentworth Castle, which was known as Stainborough Hall prior to the construction of the folly.
Victorian greenhouses in the grounds were featured in the BBC series 'Restoration'.
