The Alger Middle School project involved the new construction of Alger Middle School, located at the previous site of Alger Park Elementary, which was demolished. The new facility features a gym, art room, music room,
an administrative pod and a three-story classroom pod. It serves 500 students in grades six through eight. The project also included a new soccer field, softball field, two basketball courts, two tennis courts, a new community playground as well as a walking path around the soccer field with six fitness stations. The $12.5 million project, managed by Christman Construction and designed by URS, replaces the original school built in 1927. That building was demolished in 2005.
