This McDonald's is noteworthy for two reasons.

First, it was one of the few pre-1980 restaurants that had a pirate ship theme on the interior, complete with a pirate ship with tables.

Second, for decades it was advertised on I-75 billboards in Indian River and Mackinaw City with green signs, the only place green has ever been used.
