Barama Bay Island

This nearby island in Ao Por is often called Ao Barama by the locals. Ao Barama translates to 'bay of highest respect' in English and refers to the island's small bay on the east. A private Dubai based company bought the island and is currently marketing the island as the "Jumeirah Private Island Phuket". Although the land of this island is now privately owned, the beaches on this island are open to the public. This is the same for all beaches in Thailand.
