Jarinje is a village in northern Kosovo, on Kosovo's northern border with Serbia. Jarinje is the location of the one of the NATO-staffed border checkpoints between Serbia and Kosovo. In February 2008, the border was sealed by NATO troops after angry Serbs ransacked and set fire to the border checkpoints at Jarinje and at Brnjak. Serbia does not recognize the border and claims Kosovo as an integral part of Serbia.
