The 63 ac. waste disposal site commenced operation in 1943 and consisted of a 27 ac. industrial waste disposal area and a 36 ac. flyash disposal area. Industrial wastes were primarily scrap solid rubber and rubber in sludge with some carbonates and silicates from treatment of boiler feed water. Flyash from the burning of coal was disposed at the site until the company converted its fuel source from coal to gas.
