Sunflower Rod and Custom Assn. Formed in Jan 1954 and hosted the first NHRA "National" in 1955. This event has since become known as the U.S. Nationals.
The NHRA member track currently hosts a weekly drag racing program in addition to a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event and Jr. Dragster program.
In 1994 it was recognized as a Kansas Historical Site.
