Shadegan (Persian: شادگان‎‎; also Romanized as Shādegān and Shādgān; formerly, Fallehiyeh, Fallābīyeh, and Fallāḩīyeh) is a city in and the capital of Shadegan County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 48,642, in 8,600 families.

    The description is faulty... the Iraqis did not even come close to Shadegan.

    Disregard my previous comment. After further looking into the events of the Iran-Iraq war i found that the Iraqis did come close to this city (didn't enter to occupy) and maintained a blocking position preventing reinforcements from reaching Abadan.
