Tshipi Borwa is 100% owned by Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining (Pty) Ltd (Tshipi) which in turn if jointly owned by Jupiter Mines Limited with 49.9% and Ntsimbintle NewCo with 50.1%. Ntsimbintle NewCo is owned by BEE company Ntsimbintle Mining with 74% and OM Holdings Limited with 26%. The mining right was originally issued to Ntsimbintle Mining (Pty) who then transferred it to Tshipi.
Tshipi Borwa is an open cast operation which utilizes truck and shovel to mine a managese resource which begins around 70m below surface and is generally 30-45m thick, with a gradual down dip to the northwest at approximately 5 degrees. The resource stretches across the entire property within the Hozatel formation.
