    No, you are wrong. This is grizedale forest, though on ordinance survey maps it's sometimes marked as "Grisedale" forest. All the industry in these woods in Hematite paint mining, though little remains - but I can't post the details on an open website due to Regulations with the landowner's privacy...

    Wrong again, this is not Grizedale Forest, at least not the "Grizedale Forest" that locals refer to. That is north west of here in the Lakes District National Park and is well known amongst other things, for a sculpture walk across the forest. This area of woodland you've identified is located in Arnside/Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is well worth a visit of course.
