  In 1967-68 my family lived in at Street 1, House 6 of what was then known (at least to me) as the Chittagong Housing Society. There were at least three numbered streets that ran off a busier street. Behind Street 1 was a hill, and we thought there was an orphanage on the hill. On one of the streets was a large house shaped like a ship. Is it possible that Nasirabad Housing Society is the same area with a different name, or was it somewhere else? My brothers an I attended St Placids that year. I was 9 years old, and have many very clear memories of living there, and many more that are not so clear. Thanks Matt Ellis

  I lived on street no. 1. I was 13 at the time and attending St. Placid's also. Our house was close to the end of the street. I remember the ship shaped house. You are right there was a hindu orphanage or school on the hill and we could hear them praying in the morning. Pls. contact me at url295@gmail.com.

  Yes, the house built as ship has been taken down and rebuilt in to a 12 floor apartment 8 years ago. The orphanage is still there, but they have made a huge temple in the mountain as well. Nasirabad has developed in to an elite area. there are few schools as well on the same road. you can also use google maps to look around the place, Just type sunshine grammar school in Chittagong and that's the same road the house built as a ship was located.
