Main Mishk Masjid/Mosque (Hyderabad)

India / Andhra Pradesh / Kapra / Hyderabad

Situated close to Purana Pul, this Masjid is one of the most interesting mosques within the city. Massive yet delicate, like all the Qutb Shahi mosques, it stands at one end of a squarish country in an atmosphere of peace. Built in 1678, this mosque bears the name of its builderm Malik Miyan Mishk, an Abyssinian slave of Abul Hasan Tana Shah. Malik Mishk held the office of Secreatry, Commander and Keeper of the Royal Key.
