The old Customs House in Tappahannock, VA, dates from ca. 1750. The structure faces the Rappahannock River. Known as Whitlock's Ordinary in the 1760's and 1770's. It became the Customs House in 1786 when the Port of Tappahannock was established and the Collector of Customs lived in the house. It is a private residence today.
