Tal Chhapar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Churu district of Rajasthan. Tal Chapper Sanctuary, RajasthanTal Chapper is accessible from both Bikaner and Jaipur.
Initially Tal Chhapar Wildlife Sanctuary was managed as a private hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Bikaner. Tal Chapper was declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary in the year 1962. The sanctuary is famous for the Black Buck and now it is also known as Black Buck Park. Black bucks are the most elegant antelopes found in India and are also revered as a sacred animal by the Bishnoi community.
This wildlife sanctuary is known for its unique habitat for number of migratory birds. A large number of migratory birds come here in the month of September. Such as montagur's, marsh harrier, pale harrier, imperial eagle, tawny eagle, short toed eagle, sparrow hawk, skylark, brown dove, blue jay, crested lark, ring drove, green bee eaters, black ibis and demoiselle cranes.
The best time to visit Tal Chhapar Wildlife Sanctuary is September to March.
