Kia Forum is an indoor arena in Inglewood, California. It was designed by Charles Luckman Associates and was constructed from 1965 to 1967 at a cost of $16,000,000. The venue has an all-seated capacity of 16,000. From 1988 to 2003, the venue was named the Great Western Forum, when Great western Saving & Loan owned the naming rights.
The Forum was the home of the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA and the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL from December 1967 to 1999. It was also the home of the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA from 1997-2000, the Los Angeles Lazers of the MISL from 1982–1989, the Los Angeles United of the CISL in 1993, the Los Angeles Stars of the ABA from 2000–2001, and the Los Angeles Blades of RHI from 1993–1997. It also hosted the NBA All-Star Game in 1972 and 1983, the NHL All-Star Game in 1981, the WTA Tour Championships from 1974-1976, the basketball events of the 1984 Summer Olympics, the Big West Conference men's basketball tournament from 1983–1988, the 1989 Pacific-10 Conference men's basketball tournament, and several concerts by top performers. From 2000 to 2009, Faithful Central Bible Church held its regular services at the Forum each Sunday morning.
The Madison Square Garden Company acquired the Forum in June 2012 and will conduct a comprehensive renovation of the historic venue.
