Saint Quiriace Collegiate Church (Provins)

France / Ile-de-France / Provins / place Saint-Quiriace
church, listed building / architectural heritage, historic landmark

The Saint Quiriace church was begun in the 12th century but because of a lack of funds was never completed to the original design. The nave in particular was supposed to have extended much further westward, to a point which is now marked with a cross. Some of the largest windows were long ago walled up to ensure the building's stability.
