Vétroz, cradle of "Amigne". Amigne is a very old Valaisan type of vine whose surface of distribution is very limited, almost primarily to the slope of Vétroz. There are less than 20 hectares of Amigne in the world today, including 13 in Vétroz.

Characteristics: delicate type of vine of 3rd time maturing consequently very tardily. The bunch of Amigne is rather loose and the bays of small size give a very sweetened, acidulated and slightly tannic must. Its savour is rather neutral.

Grounds: Amigne likes the arid and rocky grounds.

Wine making: Amigne is declined out of dry wines but is appropriate just as easily for making of liqueur-like high-class wines.
