Built in 1929 as the Hotel Huntington, which opened two weeks before the stock market crashed, it served as a hotel for 20 years before becoming a department store and later other stores and offices. It's current owner has sold the building to a bank which plans to demolish it for a new bank building. Preservation efforts have failed to save the structure.
