  • How does one get into this entry and correct the misinformation? The nearest city is Brockville, Ontario Canada not Antwerp, Le Ray or Kingston. It is in a public park on the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River and is free to view at all times and days.. This is one of the only Golden Jets preserved in Canada. The name of the park is Blockhouse Island named for a former wooden blockhouse, not a fortress. The Blockhouse was built in 1839 and remained here until 1860. The island was joined to the mainland about 1859 and became the southern terminus of the Brockville & Ottawa Railway. There is an historical plaque near the mounted jet, and it gives more of the interesting story of Canada's precision flying squad.
