The Richfield Data Center is the State of Utah's emergency data backup center. Several other organizations such as University of Utah Health Care, and several cities and counties store computer data in the center. Data is automatically backed up in the center, usually on a daily basis, and can be retrieved in the event of an emergency that has destroyed the data center in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is also an important location for the Utah Education Network (UEN) as it is a gateway for internet service if lines are damaged in Northern Utah.
