Col Italia (Italian Pass) was named by Prof Giotto Dainelli, who lead an Italian expedition, here in 1930. After ascending the Siachen glacier from the south, up along the Nubra, flooding in Nubra prevented him from returning this same route. He hence traversed this col and returned via Rimo glacier and down the Shyok

This place is called Italian Col for some reason. Do not change it. Calling it Italian doesn't make it less Indian
