Saint Joseph The Worker Parish became an independent parish in 1936. Its first pastor was Fr. Nicasio Patangan. In 1990's the old church was renovated into a modern neo-classical. The walls were cladded with mactan stone and pebbles. The semi-circular arced openings and the diagonal pillars serves as the contrasting element of the horizontal and vertical outline of the building. In late 2000's the bell tower was added.
