Vilniaus puppet theatre was established in 1958 by puppeteer, actors, director Balys Lukošius. The theatre moved to Ogiński Palace in 1977 and renamed itself to „Lėlė”. The founder and preserver of Lėlė is Culture Ministry of Lithuania.
The theatre have 2 halls. The Grand hall capacity is 220 placs spectators. It is used to show puppet plays and small-scaled drama shows. Some international puppet theatre festivals wew held here. Minor sall capacity is 50 places and it is used to show small-scaled puppet plays.
