Beautiful beach, place for leisure time and for sea bathing.
It is characterized by its tepid turquoise water with special transparency and very clean, because of its bottom of coralliferous sand and the luminosity of the environ.
ln this beach the first explorers, sent by Ariki Hotu Matu'a (first king of the island) disembarked. It was the main village for the political, social and cultural organization of ancient governors. It also was the school of Maori Rongo Rongo (masters of the ancient scripture). This knowledge has been lost since the last Maori Rongo Rongo died in 1 different strangers' excursions to the Island and because of the apprehension of most of the population of Rapa 1 Nui, kidnapped in the XIX century to work as slaves in the guaneras, located south of Peru.
However, other teachings of the culture and its wisdom are conservated in time, thanks to the familiar oral traditions, 1•, very common within the tribes that exist nowadays.
ln this sector are two ahu completely restored by Norwegian expedition Kon- Tiki in 1954, ahu Ature Huki ' and ahu Nau-Nau.
