This is one of the most famous stations of the Moscow Metro and it is the handiest Metro station for visiting the Red Square area. Each arch is flanked by a pair of bronze sculptures depicting the people of the Soviet Union, including soldiers, farmers, athletes, writers, aviators, industrial workers, and schoolchildren. There are a total of 72 sculptures in the station. A tradition exists to rub the dog sculpture's nose for good luck, as it is kept very shiny!
