(IATA: BKI, ICAO: WBKK) Located about 8 km from the city centre of Kota Kinabalu (KK), it is the second busiest airport in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with around 4 million passengers using this airport annually for domestic and international flights. It is also the main gateway into Sabah. The airport runway has a direction of 02/20 and has an elevation of 3 metres above sea level. Two terminal buildings operate here.

    Kota Kinabalu city is under beautification, with a soon new international terminal and a newly constructed Terminal 2 airport which cather low fare tickets.
