A 90-acre, indoor/outdoor museum complex that opened in 1929 as The Edison Institute, but was known locally as Greenfield Village and The Henry Ford Museum, includes:

-Greenfield Village containing famous buildings from America’s past, craft demonstrations and special events;

-The Henry Ford Museum which houses a transportation collection, industrial and household machinery and decorative arts and showcases the people and ideas that have fired our imaginations and changed our lives.

-The Ford Rouge Factory Tour, a firsthand journey into the genius of American manufacturing.

-The Benson Ford Research Center housing the one-of-a-kind artifacts and resources of The Henry Ford to deepen our understanding of American people, places and things; and

-The Henry Ford IMAX Theater which presents current releases, cinema classics and feature-length documentaries that showcase American popular culture and the American experience in superb, sense-surrounding detail.

In 2006, the name was officially changed to The Henry Ford.
