Oxford Terrace Baptist Church with the 911 memorial to NY fire fighters lost in the terrorist attack. Totally demolished in the earthquake of 22 feb 2011.
Foundation stone laid in October 1881. When opened in july 1882 this was the largest Baptist Church in New Zealand until the Auckland Tabernacle was completed in 1886. The adjacent old church, a wooden building, was used as a Sunday School until it burnt down in 1903
