In 1972, Arthur T. McIntosh envisioned a family-oriented private country club community in Lakewood, Illinois; 60 miles northwest of Chicago and just outside Crystal Lake. Today, Turnberry Country Club boasts a 30,000 sq. ft. French Normandy style clubhouse, four tennis courts, and a Junior Olympic sized swimming pool. Turnberry’s golf course is truly a jewel in a wonderful setting. Designed in 1970 by famed course architect, E. Lawrence Packard, Turnberry Golf Club opened in 1972. This 6,900 yard, par 72 layout has mature trees, water on 10 holes, elevation changes and plenty of bunkers.
