Murrieta is a city in southwestern Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 44,282 at the 2000 census. Population was estimated to be 92,933 in 2006, making it one of the fastest growing cities in the state. As of 2008, it's population is just over 100,000 people. Largely residential in character, Murrieta is considered a "bedroom community", with large numbers of its residents commuting to jobs in San Diego and Orange counties, and the more industrialized neighboring city of Temecula to the south.

  • tons of shopping centers??? Where are you from, Anza?? Murrieta is ALL suburban housing. It's only recently that they've started building areas of commercial interest. Trust me, I've lived here for over 12 years.
  • i live in the part by the mall, and this is the best spot to live in the whole valley!
