Heshuo (or Hoxud) County is located in central area of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The area is around 12,753.83 square kilometers, with a total population of 68,374 (2003). The main ethnic groups consists of the Han, Uygur, Hui, Mongolian and other ethnic groups.
