-It also has an historical importance Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj the king of not only Maharashtra but of many other states used to change the horses here. He used to choose strong horses to go to Konkan from here.So this city is known as Badlapur city.
'Badla' means to change and 'Pur' means village,so this city is named as 'BADLAPUR'-added by j92
