  • we visited this temple last month... very nice how years of architecture can be preserved.3/21/2007
  • Well...preserved "sort of". the original was burned to the ground within the last 100 years by a crazy person, they were able to recreate it.
  • Does anyone know if Mishima's book about the temple is more fact than fiction? I read it years ago, but I seem to remember that it was burned down by a novice monk who was disturbed by the perversions of the senior monks.
  • I was there in February. It was so crowded but I still had a good time.
  • Saya pernah berkunjung ke sini tahun 2000, tempat yang sangat bagus dengan lingkungan yang terpelihara. I was here in 2000, greath place and good environment.
  • It is best to get there early in the morning when the light is low and the crowds are smaller. Yet nothing can prepare you for the experience - just brilliant. Definitely one of the best "oh gosh" moments in Japan.
