904 North Broadway

This property was originally the site of a three-story hotel. What would become Little Joe's, the Italian-American Grocery Company, moved into the ground floor of the former hotel in 1907 from its original location at 5th and Hewitt Streets. Some of the other businesses that were located in the old building included: Pacific Sales Book Co. (1922), Corlina Grocery (1928), D.W. Davis (1930), and Whiting Mead Co. (1930). Eventually the hotel was torn down and a dedicated restaurant was built to house what was now known as Little Joe's, having changed its name after WWI to de-emphasize Italian heritage like many Italian-American businesses at the time.

Little Joe's was closed in 1998 and the building torn down in 2014. The Chinatown Blossom Plaza was built in its place.
