Public beach much smaller and rockier than Crane's Beach. Popular with locals because of the off-the-beaten path location of the beach and the relative anonymity of the beach to tourists.

  • Large rocks in water. Swim to the big one just off shore.
  • Great spot to launch for a brief paddle across to Plum Island's Sandy Point by kayak. Beware: When the tide is flushing out, the currents are brutal. You may very easily smack into a boat or houseboat during the warmer months. Also, if you do get flushed out far enough (directly south of Sandy Point), the surf fighting against the current *often* makes for very tricky navigating and the risk of capsizing is rather high if you get caught in the wrong spot. If the current takes you too far and is too strong, head for the shores to the west or south, don't keep struggling for Plum Island, and then hug the shore back up to where you launched. Good luck.
