Muncho Lake has an unusual deep blue color due to the large amounts of copper in the lake area. This lake was a major obstacle during the building of the Alcan highway and much of the road today along these parts is still the original road that was carved from the hillsides by the US army. Several gas stations nearby. The Rocky mountain lodge operates several float planes on this lake.
