Stowe is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. The population was 4,314 at the 2010 census. Tourism is a significant industry. Its nickname is "The Ski Capital of the East" owing to the prominence of Mount Mansfield, Stowe Mountain Resort, and the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum. It is also the site of the Von Trapp Family Lodge as well as Smugglers' Notch State Park.
Stowe is host to arts and crafts shows, a balloon festival, and many other special events. The weekend-long British Invasion event is held annually in Stowe during the third week of September. The Stowe Theater Guild, along with Hyde Park Opera House, and the Waterbury Festival Players, combine to offer theatrical productions each summer.
There are 400 Tennis Courts in Stowe, one for every 10 people.
