Ozubulu, nick named "Ana Akpu" probably from the name of thier ancient diety "Ogwugwu Akpu". Ozubulu is the headquarter of Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. Its villages include Amakwa, Egbema, Eziora and Nza. Ozubulu shares boundries with the small but mighty Ihembosi, Okija, Oraifite, Nnewi and Ukpor. One of the most notables in Ozubulu is the renowned and late Chief Jerome Udoji.

Sunday, August 6th 2017, a day that will live in infamy (especially in Ozubulu). A day that St. Philips Catholic Church at Ofufe Amakwa, Ozubulu was attacked by a gunman killing no less than thirteen (13) worshipers, including women and children. A day that bestowed the name Ozubulu-Massacre. Among the dead are Anthonia Ufondu, Anulika Obunadike, Uchenna Obunadike, Hyacinth Oramadike, Florence Nweke, Cyprian Ikegwuonu, Cecilia Ewin, Rose Okoye, Oluchukwu Uhelu, Eunice Akanigbo, Victoria Uzokwe, Christiana Igbeja and Pauline Udeze. May their soul rest in peace.
