Site-specific earth sculpture constructed in and a round an abandoned blue-stone quarry. The structure is entirely dry laid blue-stone. A small museum of quarrymen's tools, and other relics of the time, is at the site.
The construction was planned to take 40 years (hence the name) but the artist was killed in an accident three years short of his goal. No one thinks that he would have simply laid down his tools and said, "Well, that's it."
