Designed c. 1925 as the South Side High School by Huse Templeton Blanchard. This building served as the junior and senior high school from 1924-1954. The clock was fabricated by the E. Howard Clock Company.

When a new high school opened in 1954 to serve the growing number of students, this building became the middle school.
