Above postcard of Sandy Point Farm dates from about 1908 when that farm was owned by Reginald Claypole Vanderbilt. He bought this farm in 1902 and spent a great deal of his inheritance making this farm a center for quality horse-breeding, well-known throughout the United States. Reginald died there in 1925, leaving his wife, Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt and his one-year-old daughter, Gloria. The private indoor training ring, designed by Walker & Gillette still stands, but the villa was torn down in 1927. The ring today serves as the Sandy Point stables - www.sandypointstables.com/main.html
The stables were converted to condos. Beautiful barn with clock tower survives along with the original entrance gate. wikimapia.org/#lat=41.5512096&lon=-71.2470353&z=19&l=0...
