estate (manor / mansion land), historical layer / disappeared object
Robert Hoe owned about 520 acres of land (boundaries are approximate) from the late 19th century to 1909 when he passed away. Robert may have bought 250 acres directly from Richard Ely when the land of the Deercliff was up for sale in the earliest years of the 20th century. Hoe had built various buildings on his property and there are remnants are farms or field scattered over the summit. After Hoe passed, the land went back and forth between a couple different families. Gilbert Heublein bought a large piece of land in the Northern section around 1914 and built is tower, which is also tagged.
