Ardbeg distillery was established in 1815. Closed down in 1981. Limited production resumed in 1989. Full scale production since 1996 under the ownership of Glenmorangie (Distillery in Scottish Highland region).

Ardbeg 10 years old is the signature malt of this distillery.
