A Bronze Age round barrow with a well-defined mound standing 1.5 metres high. It is round in shape and 18 metres in diameter. The mound was surrounded by a ditch up to 3 metres wide which is no longer visible as an earthwork. In common with other barrows on the Hambleton Hills, the barrow is thought to mark an early boundary.

A central crouched interment with a bone ring was found within a "setting of stones" (cist) during a previous excavation. The remains of two skeletons found near the surface suggest previous disturbance. The barrow probably pre-dates the Hesketh Dike which breaks to accommodate it.
