jetty, interesting place, invisible, do not draw title
This is 600 metres long, the longest wharf on the East Coast of New Zealand. It was built in 1928 at the enormous cost of 100,000 pounds sterling. It closed to shipping in 1967.
Restoration estimated to cost about NZ$5 million is under way, and the structure was given Category One status by the NZ Historic Places Trust in April 2009.
