This used to be the location of Drury High School. It was abandoned years ago in favor of the new high school built by the city
dump. Facility was "inadequate" for the high school students. It was later converted into the space it is today - middle school. The
city tore down several older middle schools that were located in the neighborhoods they served. Then they consolidated all of the
middle schoolers into this facility. Apparently it was not good enough for the high school kids but perfectly adequate for the
middle school students. Hmmm....city planning (or lack thereof) is a mysterious thing. Sort of like when the city tore down half of
its main street during the national rage to perform "urban renewal" in the 60's. The empty half of Main Street sat as a gigantic
parking lot for years. Apparently there wan't much of a plan to "renew" anything. It is now occupied by very attractive strip mall
type buildings......very nice.

The middle school is now no longer occupied.
