Seaside parish near Cowes with two small beaches by the village itself. Gurnard Pines Holiday Village and a small hamlet, Rew Street, are on a hill to the south. Rufflin's Copse is the notable natural feature of the parish with woods and vales just to the south of the Gurnard Pines Holiday Village. By low cliffs to the west on Gurnard Ledge a fort was built around 1600.
