Yarmouth in the western Isle of Wight is a small but attractive seaside port with a few hotels, pubs and restaurants that was before 1832 a 'rotten borough' and the only settlements included in the administration are the town, Thorley and adjoining Thorley Street on the B3401 to Carisbrooke. The town has a summer yachting & music Old Gaffers Festival in June and a tudor seaside castle. Population: c.1000.
