Keeping in view this need, the Department of Textile Engineering was established in Mehran University in 1993 and a Batch of 25 students was admitted for a four-year degree program. This, in fact, is the second department established in the country after National College of Textiles Engineering Faisalabad. In general the curriculum of the “Bachelor of Textile Engineering” includes relevant subjects such as fibre science, yarn manufacturing, fabric manufacturing, textile testing and quality control, textile chemistry, pre-treatment, dyeing & printing, finishing of textile product and textile project planning.
